• A Black or Latino U.C. Berkeley mentor
• Summer, Saturday and After-school Academies
• Home visits and case management by an African American Cal graduate
Results to date:
• One third of BSC II students have a 4.0 GPA
• Two thirds have a “B” average or higher are on track for competitive admissions to a top-tier University
• Very few are likely to enter college without BSC support.
The City and School District of Berkeley, the Lumina, Couric, Three Graces, Rogers, Stulsaft, and West Berkeley Foundations, and numerous private donors have provided financial support of the program for the last four years. We are currently seeking additional foundation and donor support for the remaining four years of the program, and to initiate additional cohorts.
