How much time do I need to commit?

All volunteers are expected to commit 4-6 hours per week for two semesters for all projects.  This includes regular meetings with the coordinator and other volunteers. Most volunteers are matched in long term, one to one relationships. If you are dedicated, love working with people, and appreciate a challenge, please apply today!

What programs are available?

Stiles Hall offers a variety of programs that enhance the lives of everyone in the community.  Have a look at the descriptions below to figure out which is right for you.  When you’ve decided, please fill out the Community Service Application on our site and we will contact you for an interview and your first assignment.  Please be aware that all volunteers that work with children will need to undergo a background check.

Matches U.C. students with children from the local community in year-long relationships. Volunteers serve as positive role models, friends, and advocates, and often become part of the child’s extended family. Half of the time is spent on literacy and academic support.
